A holiday with deeper meaning

Snorkel fringing reefs, stroll along beautiful beaches, kayak secluded bays and hoist a sail or two. We have plenty of ways to connect and experience the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. The Eco Expedition is a fun social affair, a place to come together, meet new people and share stories.

The SV Whitehaven Eco Expedition is a project designed to have a lasting impact, not only on our guests, but on the magnificent creatures and secluded islands of the Great Barrier Reef itself.

Take more than just photos

Take what others have left behind by participating in beach clean ups, removing plastic debris from Green Turtle nesting areas. Make a difference participating in citizen science by reporting sightings thru Eye On The Reef monitoring programs. Legacy, leave a little of yourself behind by making a real difference to the survival of a host of species, including the Green Sea turtle. Clean, safe nesting areas could well produce turtles your grandchildren may visit someday.

Make more than just memories

Visit one of the Ngaro people’s significant cultural sights to reflect on those who came before. Take in the cave art, consider what it means to not only experience this place but to help preserve it.

Leave more than just footprints.

Our Eco Expedition caters to those who want to contribute and give something back. Those who want a deeper connection to the places they venture. Our guides will share as much knowledge as you can handle. If all you are after is a quick selfie and a suntan, perhaps you should look elsewhere.

If you want something more meaningful that makes a difference, all while having a blast and meeting new people, then please consider SV Whitehaven’s Eco Expeditions.
